I'll miss the winter... A world of fragile things. Yes, indeed she did know. But she was afraid that he was underestimating the velocity of a healthy, succulent trout. Despite the fact that they were large and appeared like as a slow-moving creature, they were instead very fast. They weren't as smart as the land animals, however. They seemed to fall for most traps, and when caught, they portrayed as if they didn't even realize that they were being eaten alive! They were odd fauna, indeed... However, Fellixe switched her thoughts on the mouth-watering upside. Fish were probably her favorite thing to eat besides something better, like a young caribou perhaps. She loved to shred them and observe the beautiful, delicate slate and white colored meat that they beheld under their scales. One thing that she had learned to dislike is the spiny fins and choking scales, which were her less favorite part, although altogether, they were grand. She smiled dearly at Ken, her mind trailing back to her previous thoughts of him as she looked him over. She would be sure to train him well in the ways of the wild, although at the crossroad area, this wasn't going to happen. Soon she spoke, "Fish it is, dear Ken. But we have to go out of the crossroad territory; nothing much seems to linger around here. A much more abundant place would be the lake; typically we call it Aoiro Lake. There are a few things that you must realize about it, although. Occasionally, the water becomes polluted from the harmful things that those disgusting humans throw out, and the toxic will absorb into the fish and is deadly. I'll make sure you get a good smell of it so you can realize when you can and can't eat a fish that you catch out of there." She looked down at his paws once again and noticed those bandages. Despite the fact that they weren't tied around her paws, they were really bugging her. They were so snarled and mangled that they just simply looked useless. "You should take those bandages off of your legs. If we find a nice pool of water in the lake, it would be good for them to get wet. Wounds heal faster when they get washed off occasionally." She decided now would be the best time to stop talking. She sometimes wondered if she talked too much. She opened her mouth to ask him if he thought so, but quickly closed it. Enough, Fellixe... she told herself. He probably already thinks you're a maniac, don't push it... wordcount: 425

He was hesitant of letting his bandages go. It had hurt him when he last tried to walk without them; he didn't want it to happen again. He zoned out, pondering it for a moment. His eyes stared blankly ahead, staring at the ground. He knew he was zoning a lot lately, but he couldn't help himself. He had so much to think about now. He still wasn't sure of whether or not that was a good thing, though.
Would he look any different without the bandages, he wondered? Would he look more wolf-like without them? He was curious, but he didn't want to ask. She had to be right if she was asking him to take them off. After all, he didn't have a sliver of an idea of how he looked like now. His memories of how he looked before being blinded by that bear were hazy.. But then again, he didn't know what she looked like, too. He pushed that aside quickly. It shouldn't matter to me.
He'd made his decision to follow instructions for now. He'd relinquish the last piece of evidence of his past as a hunting and fighting dog. "Alright." He lowered his head to his front paws, starting with the right one. The bandage loosened quickly, and he lifted his paw, unwrapping it quickly. The pads of his paw hurt when he lowered it on to the ground again. He ignored his left front paw, skipping to the back left one, and then to the right. They both slipped off as smoothly as the one in the front. The left front paw was painful to him. He didn't even want to lower it, knowing he'd only be pained.
He felt bare without his bandages, but he shook it off. He didn't want to be a dog, after all. His father was one, and a pitiful one at that. He didn't want to end up like him.
"To Aoiro Lake, then?" He wanted to get there as soon as possible. His paws were going to hurt the first few hours of being unwrapped, and he wanted to spend those hours soaking them in water. No matter how much he tried to deny it, he knew he'd only taken the bandages off because she'd told him to. Sure, he would've done it eventually, but he didn't think he'd be taking them off for another few years. He felt bit embarrassed thinking about it, but he knew it was true.
"I'm sure we'll be fine," he said sheepishly, trying to get them moving as quickly as possible so that she wouldn't notice him. "After all, I'm sure that I'll remember the smell of those toxins. And even if I didn't, I'm pretty sure you'd point it out before I killed myself, ne?"

I'll miss the winter... A world of fragile things. She chuckled lightly, swaying her tail gently from side to side like a feather in the wind. Beams of sun rays started tearing through the thick covering of fog, and it made her spirits rise. While she was preoccupied by the hopeful morning sun, it was then that he complied and began to unravel the rag-like bandages to toss them. She knew this was best; if he didn't take them off soon, she knew that his skin would begin to grow attached to them, and that could cause serious infection. She also knew that fresh air was one of the grand healers. She was proud of herself for being so knowledgeable with such medical things. It could definitely come in handy on more occasions, if she ever needed it again, that is. When her gaze fell back down to him, she suddenly realized how wolf-like he looked. He was definitely part wolf, and that was something that she never saw on him beforehand. Her mouth fell open at all of his statistics, and she couldn't believe it. How did she not realize this last night? It was inevitable; in plain sight! And yet it had completely passed her by. She was angered at herself for her ignorance. "I... uh... didn't realize that you looked so wolf-like. Is it possible that you have wolf blood running through your veins?" she asked him. She started walking, hoping that he would be able to fall into line behind her. Upon his loss of eyesight, he must awaken his inner senses, especially his hearing. This was the primary thing that she wanted him to do as she taught him. She narrowed her eyes as she walked through the fog, rotating her ears ever-so-often just in case anything was nearing them that they should be aware of. She knew that in taking this wolf dog she was pulling on a heavy responsibility onto her shoulders. She had to protect him until he was able to fend for himself; she had to aid him in hunting as long as it was necessary; and she had to guide him around around until the land became familiar to him. She sighed and looked over her shoulder to make sure he was following her lead, and called back to him, "And of course, you silly mix, I would definitely warn you of the poison before you ingested it. Your kind of funny, you know? I've never met anyone quite like you." wordcount: 412

His paws were hurting like they were large and raw even though they weren't. Next to sustaining head injuries and getting his paws burned, this pain was at the highest of his pain chart. But just because he was in pain didn't mean he was going to stay with his bandages. She'd said he looked more wolf-like. He didn't know one little change like that could make such a huge difference. Wolf was good in his book, dog was bad.
She asked about his bloodline, and he was a bit surprised. Did he really look so dog-like with those bandages..? It angered him to be considered like his father, but he also couldn't blame her. She was only telling the truth, and he appreciated that she was honest around him.
"Yes, I'm part wolf," he answered, beginning to follow after he heard her commence walking. "My mother was a wolf.. Luckily, her traits were dominant and I didn't come out dog-like like my siblings."
He spaced out, listening to Fellixe's steps. He felt nervous of what would lie at the lake. Would he look like a fool while trying to catch a fish? He could feel his eye twitching slightly at the thought of looking even more like a fool. I'll be officially useless and a disgrace.. That's not that bad.. right?
He could feel the vibrations a bit clearer now with those bandages out of the way. A bit wouldn't help him out much, after all. He had to heighten his senses, no matter what. He'd most likely have a large struggle to awaken his true wolf senses. He was too domesticated; too lenient and dependent on others to be considered feral. He had to learn to be less dependent on others, and learn how to "let go".
He rose his head when he heard her speak once again, surprised at being called funny. That's a compliment he hadn't heard before. Well, he usually never tried to communicate with others, and others didn't usually want to communicate with a mutt, so that would explain it too..
"Thank you," he half-smiled, feeling a bit better about himself. He knew it would be extremely odd if anyone would be able to look into his mind. He had too many internal struggles about generally nothing. "I'm glad you wouldn't let me eat that fish and die."
